Selecting your Paints

Trying to decide between matt and silk emulsion? Bear in mind that because of the way a silk surface catches the light, any imperfections on your wall will show up more! And do speak with us before buying as there is a well-known make we recommend avoiding!

As for choosing your colours, we’re not interior designers, and know only too well how hard it can be to pick paint colours for the end result you may have in mind! Most people find they want to experiment with tester pots: we recommend painting as large an area as possible to try to gauge the effect, and then still expect the result to be more intense once you have a whole wall or room painted. We often use Johnstones paints: they have a vast array of colours which can be mixed to order – including in tester pot size (you can look at their range online but we have a hard copy sample book clients are welcome to borrow).
